Hello there!
I'm just starting to get into creating 360 panos, and i've got some basic questions that i'd be very grateful if someone would help me with. I've had a look through the forum, and a lot of the topics being discussed are pretty advanced, so forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong place.
Our ultimate goal is to create 360 panos of local sporting events; local school games, local sporting teams, etc. I've seen some online and they look great!
I've purchased a gigapan pro robotic head, and i'm using autopano giga.
- I can import a large number of shots at the moment - 3 layers of over 100 shots. It looks like autopano can stitch these images correctly, but when i render i run into problems. It won't allow me to render using TIFF (i'm guessing that my file is going to be over 2gig). It does allow me to render in RAW, but the file size is huge, like 16 gig, and when i try and use these with KRPANO it crashes. This is way bigger than the combined size of all the photos - really doesn't make sense to me? I do acknowledge that I'm a total beginner at this and I'm probably over looking something simple!
There is also the option to output to photoshop - but the problem being I don't have photoshop, and I'm reluctant to purchase a copy due to cost, in case it's not what i need.
Does anyone have any ideas on this? Could i output to TIFF somehow and keep it under 2 gig!
Again, apologies if I've posted this in the wrong place. Any and all input greatly appreciated!

Hello,
From krPano homepage, it accepts Photoshop files as input, so it does not matter you have Photoshop installed or not.
By the way, if the size of the output file is too big, you can just reduce the size at rendering time.
Of course, if you are interested in having an interactive result easily, we may give a look at Panotour !
Regards,
Thomas

1) Output it as .PSB, open it in Photoshop and delete the Alpha-channel. Then you most likely will be able to save and use it as TIF.
2) It´s not clear to me which issues you might have that make "KRPano crash" - could you describe that precisely?
Btw.: KRPano should be very well able to handle your files.
best, Klaus

Thank you both for your replies.
Thomas - I will try again with KRPANO. I think it could be case that my computer does not have enough processing power. I'll try again with only Krpano running. I've also downloaded a trial of panotour. This looks like it should be able to handle my needs - plus I really like the look/feel and usability of these autopano products.
Klaus - currently I do not have Photoshop available to me.
It looks like my real issue is the size of my output from autopano. The 300 photos I input total around 1.3 gig, but the KRO file is over 16gig after approx 5 hours of rendering. When I try and render to TIFF it fails (i guessing because the output exceeds the 2 gig limit).
This file seems too big for my computer to handle!
Can anyone recommend optimal output settings - I want to keep as much detail as I can in the photos.
What's generally the size of people's outputs from projects that have approx 300 photos (each photo around 4 meg, dimensions - 4928 x 3264).
Again, apologies if these are very silly questions! Thanks.
