Hi all! First post here. I have been considering PTP for a while, but my main sticking points were:
1) No "auto play"
2) No "Previous Image / Next Image" type of function.
I was visiting the krPano site and see now there is a Virtual Tour "Droplet" that has the "Skin" that I have been hoping would be available for PTP. Since PTP is really a GUI for krPano I am thinking that there must be some way to use this vtourskin XML file as a theme on PTP. XML is a bit over my head, I tried looking at the templates directory to see if I could reverse engineer a theme, but before I spend a week of my time trying to figure out if it is even possible to use the vtourskin XML maybe someone here has a quick and dirty solution...;-)
This is an ideal "theme" for real estate tours. Its simple, clean and gives the viewer the option to quickly look at images and panoramas without thumbnails getting in the way, but with the option to view thumbs if they wish to. If I can get that theme to work on my PTP Demo, I will be finally making a purchase of PTP.
If Kolor can build an AutoPlay and "Image Gallery" type function into the system I think they could attract more real estate tour providers. I currently use a service that lets me build tours fairly quick and easy and I am able to combine video, photos, panoramas and floorplans...just upload my photos, panos and floorplans, then build the tour all for $12 bucks a tour. Here is an example one I did last week:

I may play around with the XML a bit to see what can be done. I know there is a specific structure that has to be followed. If not I believe PTP 2.x will include this capability.

1) The tours do support mobile devices, but not so well. Video support is mediocre at best. I have designed a tour that works much better on mobile devices.
2) I'm working on building a system that is very customized. If I have to roll up my sleeves and and get down and dirty with XML code I may, but I'd rather not. krPano has all the components and capabilities I want and need, it's just going to be a matter of combining them into a single theme (or "skin"). I'd much rather use a GUI than hand code, but if that's what I have to do....I'm not a "programmer", but I am a utilitarian coder...;-)...I am certainly not intimidated by markup languages.. and whether it is by using PTP or krPano I am pretty certain what I want to do can be done.
My other option is Pano2VR. I had contacted Arturo at 360Panotours and he could build the custom "skin" I'd like to have. He has done some really nice work but I prefer krPano over Pano2VR.

the future major release of PTP will contain an "autoplay" feature, and "Next/Previous" buttons will be available too.

Thanks for the info! I have been following these forums for a while waiting for those features to become available. Hopefully Kolor will have an Alpha release soon so we can start to work with the new features! I really like PTP but those are features that I have to have before I can make a switch. I attached a "skin" I am hoping to build. It makes use of the floor plan (top left image map), Bing Maps (right side slide out), navigation (with the added "Prev/Next"), sound and full screen toggles that PTP has already. On the left are image gallery, pano gallery, video and "tools" icons. The "Tools" will open an HTML page inside the tour which will have icons for things like "Request More Info", "View Agents Other Tours", "Property Details", etc. If I want to get really fancy I could make a swf object, but in the beginning I will keep it simple.
I think everything shown on this "skin" is doable in krPano using some advanced XML. But as far as a skin for real estate virtual tours, that would really be a nice full featured skin.
