I had Josef check the pattern - it´s allright.

Greets, Ed

I did nothing to the images - just imported them. It´s the very same settings and structure as i used with 6.2.3 for successfully months.

Re: PapyWizard XML import messy

20mm speed mode.

Speed mode has a regular pattern - while the usual mode has lesser images in lower- and upper-rows than in middle rows.

The patterns in both cases are correct. But they seem to be misinterpreted in the import module.

I used xml import with the 35mm lens for months without any issue using APG 2.6.3 - now with 2.6.4 it suddenly produces this mess.
The shooting didn´t change and neither did the xml.

Re: PapyWizard XML import messy

Might be related to the image´s EXIfs - strange thing - i´m just checking that.

Re: PapyWizard XML import messy

I put an image on my server for evaluating the the EXIFs:

www.360impressions.de/EXIF_TEST.zip

The import-issue might be related to the MagicLantern software i installed on the CF card i used in the camera for running the tests - i don´t know how to reveal whether trhat´s the reason or not. I would like to look for even the remotest reasons for the failure of theh import.
Non-conform EXIFs might cause orientation-issues- i had that some years ago.

So if anybody is able to evaluate EXIFs . . . . i´m not very deep into knowing about them cool

best, Klaus

Re: PapyWizard XML import messy

Hi Klaus
It's clear that all images are 90 degrees tilt. So have you change from portrait to landscape mode with the camera?
In the xml it's portrait. With some cameras, you can enable or disable the orientation flag for exif registration. So check this.
You say speed mode ? So the camera is turned around while shooting ? Perhaps this could give some errors with the internal tilt sensors.

Martin

Hi Martin!

I´ll have to set the camera back completely from the MagicLantern software resp. use only CF cards without it (it resides on the card and not in the camera).
Maybe it causes an EXIF issue here related to the image´s orientation.

Tomorrow i´ll run a test using a fresh CF card. We´ll see . .

Thanks for having a look at this, Klaus

Re: PapyWizard XML import messy

Hi Klaus
Ah! Setting back to defaults.
In the settings of the 5D MkII, there is this "Autom. Drehen" option, which rotates images in Portrait mode automaticaly in the camera and/or on PC.
(See german manual page 164). Default will be "off"?

Hi Martin!

The setting in my 5D2 is like it ever was: "off". Never had any issue with that.

Actually i´m exploring the MagiLantern thing - i´m using an empty CF card for the test run. Will report here.

best to you, Klaus

PS:

I ran an importing/stitching with files from before i installed ML - they import and stitch fine in 2.6.3 and 2.6.4. But not in 3.0A2.
So i´m quite sure it´s related to ML.

Re: PapyWizard XML import messy

Problem solved - the in-camera settings for rotation were changed without my notice. Didn´t realize it in the import-module where i could have rotated the images easily . .

best to you all - and thanks for making clear my own stupidness . . big_smile cool
