Re: New Merlin Synscan AZ Goto User

I thought, this could be interesting wink

Until now, i only found 1 source, and that's a beta, newer than the original one. The original firmware has problems with big panos, this beta hasn't. I just asked the poster about a newer final one, but he hasn't heard of celestron about a newer one (see last post).

So head over to timescapes.org

The firmware had been downloaded 15 times until i stumbled on it. I'm curious, how far it will go now big_smile

- use SynScan firmware loader http://www.skywatcher.com/swtinc/custom … class2=110
- and firmvare from Socke post http://forum.timescapes.org/phpBB3/down … 18d850f160

Re: New Merlin Synscan AZ Goto User

I find also

1.
If use video tracking up/down - time duration don't stop after time I declare. And there is no question "Start over?
For example  I declared  2 minutes tracking. After 2 minutes slewing is stopped (OK), but time on hand controller screen don't stop. Only when I use esc key -> is question "Start over".
If use left/right tracking - time duration stop after time I declare (OK).

2. video tracking by left/right AND up/down in ONE TRACK don't work perfect. Up/down tracking is 1-2seconds longer. Should stopped in the same time.

It is not necessary to chceck. I think if You have bug with 5,6,7,8 speed rate You (and other with merlin) will have other bugs I wrote. Just wanted to inform.
"is it different to the original merlin-handcontroller behaviour" - 3.09 firmware is designed to allview mount, not merlin. So ...

Re: New Merlin Synscan AZ Goto User

i don't think it's a bug, as it works in astronomical mode, and the merlin had only that mode. Do the speed rates work in pano-mode for the allview? If i should make a guess, i'd say NO smile

Re: New Merlin Synscan AZ Goto User

For those, who want to stay with an official source for the firmware:

Celestron offers exactly the same firmware (with the b18 in it's name) as a fix for the allview since October 2012:
