Blur because the shutter speed was 0.5 seconds. This was taken exactly at sunset.

Not speedmode - head stops in each position.

Nice catch on the stitching error - I'd missed that (building is very much finished though!).

Please take into account that I'm just testing this stuff out. That pano was online within an hour of taking it (and that's including travel time) and there has been zero post-processing on the images.

The serious stuff will come later in the year.

He does indeed have an excellent eye

As mentioned, this was a very rushed test (I had to take the wife out for dinner)! I shot another 4 or 5 panos after this one, broke the fast with the police, went home, downloaded the photos, pushed them through Capture One without touching them, fired up PTG Pro, loaded, cropped, stitched, rendered, saved, loaded into Panotour Pro, created the tour, and uploaded.

All of that in less than an hour.

What I think is fairly impressive is that the only manual intervention in the entire process was to set the crop in PTG Pro for the images. That was it - no other manual editing anywhere in the chain (although of course that does show in the output!).

Since there's some interest in the HCam, here's what it's like with the 24mm TS-E II.

Remember - this back's sensor is 53.6mm x 40.4mm.

I need to look at the original images carefully ( think you've looked at this more carefully than I have so far!), but my suspicions for any variance in sharpness would be more towards movement due to wind rather than the head settling. These were shot with the Y bracket/motor removed - the camera is mounted directly on the main unit of the VR Drive since it only needs to spin around the X axis.

The 8-15 is fairly soft on this sensor as well. Again - you have to take into consideration that this is a lens designed for a 36x24mm sensor being used on full frame medium format.

I need more time to work out how to get the best out of it, what its limits are, and how best to compensate for them. You'll notice from the 24mm TS-E tests I linked to that there are significant differences in image quality depending on aperture, and I haven't tried playing off aperture against ISO yet.

There are very few people in the world with this set of kit (in fact, I think I'm probably the first person ever to put one of these on a VR Drive), so I'm kind of on my own right now!
