I've got my new Non GoTo Merlin recently and my adventure to easy panolife has began
My config: Win 7 x64/ Papywizard 2.1.21 / NK Remote for shutter release (Don't have Nikon D80 shutter cable yet).
10.08.12 Update: Ubuntu x86 / Papywizard 2.1.21 - same. No init response from mount


Mount works fine fom Hand control BUT can't start it from wire link.
I have found HL-340 USB to RS232 cable in a local store. ( Here are some details: http://hades.mech.northwestern.edu/index.php/PIC_RS232 )
I have added two 220ohms on RT&TX pins as described here in many posts from forum Gurus.

On connect in Papywizard I'm getting "Green" in Connect column and "Red" in Init.
