Speed mode and 35mm . . .

. . . i would have needed the masking feature in APG3 very badly - but it didn´t work good enough and i edited the pictures before stitcing. And did a lot retouching afterwards.
What i learned from that (again): speed-mode is a nice gimmick - but not with moving objects - and we need a good masking tool . . . cool

The ladies in this pano appeared 5 times in the image - cost me plenty of time to retouch them:

I was lucky enough being able to use 1/500sec with 35mm@5,6 . . that day.

best, Klaus

Re: Speed mode and 35mm . . .

;-) spending 10 seconds trigger 2-3 shots (instead of one) on same image position with toal equal camera settings finally can save a lot of postprocessing time.
photomatix can handle the equal images to "erase" the ghosts. and autopano 3.0 finally can use these multiple image sets for the ghost removal tool too. to remove a ghost with autopano its mandatory to have 100%overlapping of the images (on the ghost area).
And with the TC handheld device these multiple image sets can also perfectly placed on the grid...

and even if autopano will not be used for removing the ghosts... with above workflow you can take the ghost containing images and alpha mask erase the ghosts in a very inaccurate method
removeing more than needed and autopano automatically replaces the empty places with parts of the "reserve" images.

... but I think I do not really need to convince you... ;-))

Liebe Gruesse,
Georg

Right you are! big_smile

But: what you say sounds better than it is in reality . . wink APG 3.0 didn´t do the job at all. Photomatix didn´t do it also. To be honest: i used PTGui in the end.
But nevertheless it needed a lot of photoshopping.

Speed-mode ist too fast when peaople moving around nearby! So it hits them too many times close after each other. Using the normal (or "precision") mode they seperate much better from each other.

A different thing surely is when people are sitting - like in the stadium-panos which are around.

But i very much set my hopes in APG 3.0 here . . cool

best, Klaus

P.S.: maybeif we had a good tutorial about how to use the mask-mode in detail . . . but there is a long row . . . . tonguecool
