Thumbnails to feature areas in an image, sort of like snapshots?

I've created my first panotour (but not published it live just yet). I'd like to create some thumbnails that point to specific areas or features in the 360x180 image (it's a single panorama), sort of like the snapshot feature on gigapan.com (although I don't care about the public creating them and saving them or sharing them, just embedding them myself before it is uploaded to my website). I can't figure out how to do this, but I'm not really sure what to search for on this forum or krpano's forum. 'Snapshot' didn't return very much, and 'hotspot' is not what I'm looking to do as I don't want a distracting icon in the image itself, just preview thumbnails along the side that feature parts of the image for the viewer to explore. Any ideas?

Ask Kolor to tell you how they did the 'snapshot' thumbnail feature in their 26GP Paris pano:

Or the creators of this 26GP pano of Dresden which also offers 'snapshot' thumbnails:

I found this thread on the same subject on the krpano forum:

Yes, that is exactly what I'm looking to do, especially the "autotour" feature of the first example!

I'd found that krpano thread in their forums, but the link to download the plugin is dead.

Many users have been asking for an autotour feature for a long time now. In my dreams I envisage something like a video editor style timeline on which the developer can place viewpoints from panos included in a tour with transitions between viewpoints and with optional audio and/or narrtive tracks.

I'd also like a Gigapan style snapshot feature - for developers and/or viewers.

Perhaps we'll finally get something in V2.x?

.........

Meantime take a look at the krpano SWF address and eCard plug-ins, you might be able to do something with those, with a little lateral thinking?

Oh I really hope so. I like both of your ideas!
