Is removing 3 alpha 1 (and removing/re-installing 2.6.3 if necessary) not an option?
Did you register 3 Alpha 1 with the reg key for 2.6.3?

Hi Andrew!
I removed 3.0 completely and no, i didn´t register.
When i start a project APG opens, a window appeares for the fraction of a second and the vanishes without being recognizable - APG´s window keeps empty.
(All paths are correct).
best to you, Klaus
P.S.: re-bootet the Mac - didn´t help at all.
I´m going crazy a bit - have a lot of work to do, deadline is Wednesday . . ![]()

emmm... this is painful but I am such a nice girl... TOO nice.. ![]()
There are two options....
Open the 2.6.3 app as normal.. Locate the .pano file and drag into the main window area...
or...
Right mouse on the icon of the .pano file you need to open.. Choose, "Open With"...
Done...
But you are right... this should not happen... I was told by Alex that the versions are separate from each other and will not conflict.. It seem they now do...

Well - i never had issues having different versions on my machine . .
I´ll dig deeper into it tomorrow. Maybe it´s something wrong on my side . .
Thanks for your helping!

.... well choose OTHER, then choose the 2.6.3 app and then check "Always Open With"... it's a pain to reset the default in a Mac... There are freeware apps that allow you to change the default app but I don't trust any of them.... The only other option is to remove the registry file and reinstall 2.6.3 which shouldn't take too long since its all still there... The only real pain is making sure you have your key .... Which I am sure you have...

hmmm... did try it on my PC... without issues even >1 years old .pano files and also .apw files I could open and all settings were kept ok.
Did you reboot your Mac after deinstallation of apg3.0 alpha1 and apg 2.6.3? and before installation of apg 2.6.3 again?
Georg
PS: I did register my apg 3.0 alpha 1....

One of the easiest things, Destiny - needs only one click.

There is no registry on Macs - and i never use freeware apps. It´s all in the system. I deleted all entries related to 3.0.
In the meantime i found that it´s possibly (!) a path-issue. Usually it doesn´t matter when i change the file-location between my 8 drives. When i start a project it asks where the images are located when i changes the image´s location. Then i "show" it where the images are and all is ok.
Not this time: i tell the diealogue box where the images are located and expect it to work as usual. But the dialogue box still asks for the path . . . no way to work around that,
it doesn´t accept any different path.
I´ll post some screenshots later.

Hi Georg!
I must confess: i didn´t re-install 2.6.3 after deleting 3.0 content and re-booting my Mac.
Will do in the afternoon.

Hi Klaus
Have you checked this "new" paths about forbidden signs ? This could cause that APG doesn't accept these paths.
What's about this "use relative path" option - on or off ?

Hi Martin!
No forbidden signs, "relative path" option always on!

* Autopano 2.6.3 and 3.0.0 are not sharing same settings except for one fact : .pano file association. The rest are not shared ( we have com.kolor.AutopanoGiga30.plist for v3 and com.kolor.AutopanoGiga26.plist for v2.6.* ).
* Second note : don't try to open a v3.0 project on v2.6, it probably won't work.

I´m afraid you misunderstood: i tried to open a 2.6.2 project in 2.6.3 !
Usually that works fine. After having installed the Alpha-Demo it doesn´t work any more. I deleted all 3.0 files i can recognize from the machine. Doesn´t help.

moved post:
Hi!
I now realized i´ll have to stitch and render my 4 2.6.3 projects again for delivering them on Wednesday. Can´t get them opened.
Doubleclick on the icon: no reaction besides the app openes.
Drag and drop the project-icon to the app-icon in the dock (as usual): no reaction besides the app openes.
Drag and drop the project-icon into the app window: no reaction besides the app openes.
Use the "open" dialogue ion the app: no reaction.
Use the usual system-mechanisms to open projects: no reaction.
The only reaction is: a window *seems* to flash in for the fraction of a second. Unrecognizable.
Let me tell you: that´s not funny, not at all . . .
best, Klaus
Tried to paste the project´s code here - doesn´t work:
"The following errors need to be corrected before the message can be posted:"
No information followed.
Put it on my webspace instead:

Moved post 2
Again - sorry - to make things clear:
Usually when i start an "older" project and changed the path in between APH asks me where the images are located actually. I "tell" it the actual path then and it works (have constantly activated "relative paths").
This time it not even asks.
Yesterday it assed me one time - i gave it the actual path: nothing happened. I´ll try to reproduce that for doing a screenshot.
Reproduced it right now. Gave it the actual path. No suceess. It doesn´t let me choose the images - only the project.
best, Klaus

Klaus,
I downloaded you zip...
the .pano file opened... and saw its labeled as
<ApplicationName> Autopano Giga 2.6.2 RC 4 </ApplicationName>
I did try openening it with my 2.6.3 final and got the same result, just a small window popping up and nothing happens and no chance to see what this window is telling me...

You can find 2.6.2 here - perhaps revert to that version temporarily?

Hi Andrew!
I did my recent projects with 2.6.2 and 2.6.3 - i don´t want to go back to 2.6.2 because 2.6.3 works very well. I can´t see any reason why 2.6.3 shouldn´t take a 2.6.2 project because it did without any issue before i installed 3.0.
best, Klaus
Maybe it´s an issue on my side - but i can´t find it at all . . .

I GOT IT....
open your .pano file:
<FinalRender>
<RenderBasenameTpl> %a2 </RenderBasenameTpl>
<RenderPath> /Volumes/Speedy/21_03_12/H&M_TIFF/1 </RenderPath>change it to (delete the & from your path !!!!) and change the path on your volume....:
<FinalRender>
<RenderBasenameTpl> %a2 </RenderBasenameTpl>
<RenderPath> /Volumes/Speedy/21_03_12/HM_TIFF/1 </RenderPath>with the & in the path and openening with 3.0 alpha 1 nothing happens.
without the & .... I get message that the path of the source images cant be found...
funny thin is that not the "/Volumes/Speedy/21_03_12/H&M_TIFF/1" is not found,
but now for my test it says "C:/Users/gkaefer/Downloads/Klaus/APG_Project/_MG_8154.tif" etc. is missing

PS: I cant verify if than choosing an "correct" path does work - dont have the source images....

i´ll try your suggestion! Thanks!
