Would some of you that use the gigapan imager and import the results into AutoPano be willing to share the settings that you use within AutoPano? I've been trying it out with image sets that Gigapan stitch has no problem with, and getting some pretty awful results. I suspect that some of the settings may be the problem, but to quote a well-used phrase, "I don't know what I don't know." Thanks in advance!

Which version of Autopano Pro or Giga are you using and on which operating system?
Which Gigapan robot are you using and with which camera/lens at what focal length?
Can we see your 'pretty awful' results?

I'm trying out the demo AP Giga 64bit 2.6.3.
I'm not expecting perfection, as this image set is far less than perfect, which is part of the reason I chose it.
Here are screenshots of the image set in Gigapan stitch and imported into AutoPano

It seems that in the preview of gigapan stitch, some of the bottom rows are shifted. Is that an illusion or not ?
We don't support such non regular matrix shooting yet. It may explain the issue you have.
Note : some recommendation for gigapan stitching with autopano :
- Be sure to have exif and correct of ( the focal length should be correct when opening a single image with autopano. If you preprocess images, be sure not to loose exif )
- check the number of row of column ( the preview is here for that )
- check the right gigapan shooting mode
Then everything should works like a charm.

It is the same image set.
Canon SX40 HS at 840mm on a Gigapan EPIC 100. The bottom few rows aren't off center on purpose - the imager must have shifted to the right a bit between two of the rows. I'll post screenshots of the import wizard preview and the Gigapan stitch preview from home this evening.
To be clear - I really want to be able to use AP for stitching. I've stitched approximately 200 gigapixel panoramas with Gigapan Stitch so far, and would like to move to AP if it will work at least as well.

So why do you wish to switch to Autopano Giga?

I wish to switch to AP mainly for the ability to correct stitching errors by manipulating the control points. That's one major difference between AP and GP Stitch. With Stitch, you get what it gives you and any modifications or fixes have to be made to the full-res file in Photoshop.

So I took another look at the image set and found a stray repeated frame that I had missed. I corrected that and re-stitched it in GP Stitch and AutoPano. I haven't used lens correction on the images because the camera model is so new that there's not a lens profile for it yet - I'm going to have to make my own.
This is what the image set and results look like in both programs. I sincerely want to figure out what I'm doing wrong here.

Are you preprocessing the images or taking JPEGS straight from the camera?
Can you post screenshots of the settings you are using on each tab of the Gigapan Import wizard.

These are unprocessed images straight from the camera. The only settings that I've changed from defaults are the ones specific to image count and shooting order.
