He discovered New York in 2010, and got a love at first sight. Today he wants to share his love for the city through his work.

Technically speaking, he used a Canon 1000D and a 10-17 Tokina lens, without a tripod. Each panorama is composed of 9 to 15 photos. This project required 3 years of work and has been relayed on National Geographic Portugal and Petapixel.

The virtual tour has been made with Panotour Pro 1.8. Nuno created his own themes and brought his personal touch so that the virtual tour looks like no other.

An operation on a six-month-old baby

Dominik Baumann worked since last fall to get a permission for doing this panoramashooting. He had to wear clothes like the doctor to be sterile and was not allowed to come closer than 1 meter to the surgery table. Thanks to Panotour Pro, Dominik added hotspots to explain important steps & functions of each person during a heart surgery. This tour was published in Blick.ch’s website as well on the iPad App of Blick.

Is Kolor aware of any major issues or bugs when using Autopano or Panotour with Mac OS X Mountain Lion?

In our testing we have found no significant issues with running Autopano Pro, Autopano Giga, Panotour and Panotour Pro on Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.

How to install a Kolor application on a Mac running Mountain Lion?

Apple created a new security tool (called Gatekeeper™) that is intended to help make applications downloaded from the Internet safer. Learn more.

Kolor is in the process of adding Gatekeeper signing requirements to all applications. However, if you download one of the current (unsigned) applications, the Gatekeeper security feature may pop-up a security dialog warning you against installing unsigned software applications downloaded from the Internet. You can still install the unsigned applications by following these directions:

1. Open System Preferences.
2. Click Security & Privacy and make sure you’re under the General tab.
3. If the Lock icon on the bottom left corner is locked, click it, then enter your administrator name and password.
4. Under “Allow applications downloaded from:” choose “Anywhere”.
5. Now you can run the unapproved installers. After the installation, you can set the Security & Privacy Settings back to the default.

On the occasion of the 65th Cannes Film Festival, discover Cannes 65 Gigapixels, France’s largest photo presented by Gigapixel Tour (France’s leading website in gigapixel photography creation, managed by Guillaume Roumestan) and Kolor company (the global leader in image-stitching technologies) .

Cannes 65 Gigapixels is a panoramic, interactive view of the bay of Cannes, la Croisette and the old town.

To establish this record, 6468 photos were taken from the tower of the Castre Museum and then stitched together using Autopano Giga software. The final 187-gigabit image was then processed with Panotour Pro software to allow for a smooth view on the internet.

Free update: Panotour and Panotour Pro are available in version 1.8.

The main new feature is the generation of maps based on Bing Maps in Panotour Pro.

Version 1.8 also brings some bug fixes and slight adjustments (read change log below).

Improved position setting of image and video hotspots

Rectangular hotspots displaying images or videos can be drawn easier than before.

Fix issue 1198: panorama names containing commas are correctly displayed in the tooltipss

When the user moves over a spot or a thumbnail linked to a panorama which name contains a comma, this name is correctly displayed in the tooltip.

Bing® Maps inside

Bing layers (Aerial, Hybrid and Road) are now available in Panotour Maps plugin.

PanotourMaps plugin is now able to display OpenStreetMap® Layers, Bing® Maps layers and Google® Maps layers.

Bing Maps and Google Maps layers need a key to be activated.

Bing Maps keys are available through www.bingmapsportal.com website

Google Maps API keys are no more available, but you can still use your old keys.

If a project contained a custom helpscreen, this custom screen was not selected in the “Help Screen” field of the “Display” tab.

fix issue 1059 : Unable to create a tour with all data embedded in an unexisting directory

Panotour/Panotour Pro failed to build a tour that embedded all its data, if the tour path contained an unexisting directory.

fix issue 1061 : Panotour Pro needs to be closed after registration to be able to generate a license in iPad tour

PanotourPro was unable to create the iPad license in a tour if this tour was build in the same Panotour session than the registration of Panotour.

fix issue 1043 : iPad tours freezed when loading second panorama

When the tour contained polygonal hotspots, and no sequences hotspots, the iPad version of the tour was blocked when loading the second panorama.

fix issue 1048 : Tours containing Google Maps freezed when loading second panorama

If a tour contained Google Maps, and if the map was badly initialized (local untrusted folder, or bad google API key on a webserver), then the tour was freezed when trying to load the second panorama.

fix issue 1030 : Bad syntax in “effect” and “jsborder” attributes in thumbnails description

Thumbnails border on iPad was badly drawn due to a bad description syntax for their attributes.
