The booth of Kolor at Photokina 2012: image stitching, virtual tours, 360 video solutions

As a reminder, here are the announcements and products coming that we displayed on our booth:
- Autopano Pro / Autopano Giga 3.0 (Image stitching software) is already available in beta version
- Panotour / Panotour Pro 2.0 (Virtual tour software) is under developpement
- The 360 Rig and his video stitching software are already available as prototypes
The booth of Kolor at Photokina 2012: image stitching, virtual tours, 360 video solutions- Kolor is now partner with GigaPan and offers the whole GigaPan range. Autopano includes a GigaPan import module that guarantees the stitching quality
- Kolor is now partner with Seitz and Autopano now includes a VR Drive II import module that also handles HDR images

On the occasion of Photokina 2012, we are happy to announce our new partnership with Seitz! Here is the announcement:

COLOGNE, Germany. — Sept. 22, 2012 — Kolor and Seitz announce their partnership to enhance the compatibility of Seitz Roundshot VR Drive II motorized panoramic head and Kolor Autopano Giga image-stitching software.

Seitz Roundshot VR Drive II is a precise motorized panoramic head meant to automate the shooting of panoramic images, gigapixel panoramas and HDR photos.

Kolor Autopano Giga is an image-stitching application compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux that automates the stitching of dozens, hundreds or thousands of images.

The application now includes a dedicated import plugin for VR Drive II that pre-position the photos shot with the motorized head to guarantee an accurate stitching. Additionally, it enables direct creation of tone-mapped panoramas (HDR fusion) or 32-bit HDR images with simultaneous stitching and mixing of bracketed images.

A beta version of Autopano Giga 3.0 that integrates this plugin is already available for download on Kolor’s website.

  • Your panoramas (on a USB drive) ; we would be glad to display them on the booth’s big screen,
  • Source photos before the stitching or before the creation of virtual tours, so that you could present the way you use Autopano and Panotour
  • Examples of projects related to panoramic photography, gigapixel imagery, virtual tours or 360-degree videos.

We will be happy to show you the latest developments of Autopano and Panotour software with previews of the next versions. We will also have very interesting hardware to present.

The 4th Photo Sight of Saint-Laurent-du-Var, which Kolor is the guest of honor this year, will take place this week-end and the following week-end in the nice town of Saint-Laurent-du-Var, south of France.

Kolor thanks all 150 photographers who took part in the photo contest, that included this year a panoramic photography section. The prize-giving will be on Saturday, March 21st at 11am, in the town hall of Saint-Laurent-du-Var.

Kolor will give away licenses of the new panorama and virtual tour creation program Autopano Giga, along with Autopano Pro licenses and Panobooks 2009. Other sponsors like Bogen Imaging will offer tripods and other photo accessories. The rewards also includes a DSL camera and a home cinema system.

Join us there! We will hold a conference on panoramic photography at 3pm on Saturday, and an Autopano workshop at 10am on Sunday.
