Kolor launches Kolor Eyes, the world’s first 360° video player based on HTML5 for web browsers and iPad
Wednesday 22 August 2012
After several months of experimentations, the team of Kolor is glad to officially launch Kolor Eyes, the world’s first 360° video player based on HTML5. Using the latest technology standards, Kolor Eyes is offered as an iPad app and a WebApp that does not need any extra plugin to run.
Both the iPad version and the desktop version offer different projection modes to let you play and interact with the videos. The iPad version also takes advantage of the gyroscope, enabling you to move your iPad to interact with the video and literally immerse yourself in it. You can also choose your own 360° videos and play them on your iPad.
Note for Safari users wishing to try Kolor Eyes WebApp: you need to activate WebGL. Follow this procedure (Mac only):Â open the Safari menu and select Preferences. Click the Advanced tab in the Preferences window. At the bottom of the window, check the Show Develop menu in menu bar checkbox. Open the Develop menu in the menu bar and select Enable WebGL.
