Over the course of two years, world-renowned cinematographer and world-record freediver, Fred Buyle, and  Fabrice Schnoller will be leading four scientific expeditions to the Pacific, Atlantic, and Indian Oceans. They will be joined by a support team of acoustic and cognition scientists. And… one of you.

On each expedition they will dive face-to-face with sperm whales and record our encounters with video and audio equipment. They will use the video for a full-length documentary film to be released in 2016. A team of acoustic scientists from the University of Paris and DAREWIN, a nonprofit cetacean research organization, will use the audio data to try to understand the sperm whale click language.

For this project, the team of scientists will get at their disposal the Kolor 360° video solutions namely: the underwater rig (available exclusively on Kolor store within 2 to 3 weeks) and Autopano Video Pro. This footage — the first of its kind — can be used in Oculus Rift and other virtual reality platforms, or even your computer. This experience will bring you side-by-side with these incredible animals. Think & join the project!
