Panotour Pro 2.0 announcementKolor has just announced the next version of Panotour and Panotour Pro virtual tour software. A first beta version is expected to be released in August. Discover below the main features, pricing and update policy in the framework of this new version.

New features of Panotour Pro 2.0

Panotour Pro is based on the latest technologies to offer top quality. Appart from the Flash and HTML5 generation, Panotour Pro 2.0 will offer powerful widgets to let you integrate a variety of features and custom objects into your virtual tours.

Not only visually appealing, Panotour Pro 2.0 has been designed following the users’ requests to offer a nice interface. You can now create incredible virtual tours that include advanced features, with no need of programming skills.

Everybody wants virtual tours to run well on any device. Panotour Pro 2.0 offers the ability to display your tours everywhere thanks to the HTML5 format: computers, tablets, smartphones.

More details on the features: have a look at the slides of Alexandre Jenny’s conference detailing Panotour Pro 2.0:

Panotour / Panotour Pro 2.0 pricing

The new version is a huge step forward in the field of virtual tour creation. The price of the Pro version will slightly increase, whereas the price of the standard version will remain stable.

  • Panotour 2.0: €99
  • Panotour Pro 2.0: €399

Kolor also presented Livepano, which will enable to embed video frames on the place of a photo in the virtual tour. This option will be sold €199.

Upgrade policy

Kolor is used to offer the next version from the time a first beta of the application is released. The first beta of Panotour / Panotour Pro 2.0 is expected for August, however we decided to offer the new version on all purchases made from July 1, 2013.

Therefore, Panotour Pro price will be €399 from July 1 and it will include Panotour Pro 2.0.

All clients that made a purchase earlier than July 1 will be offered a special upgrade price as follows:

  • From Panotour 1.x to Panotour 2.0: €39
  • From Panotour Pro 1.x to Panotour Pro 2.0: €199, which is a third of the old price (our standard upgrade price) + the price difference between version 1 and version 2.

When will Panotour / Panotour Pro 2.0 be released?

We cannot give a date for the final release yet. The first public beta should be available in August.

I heard there was a private beta program. How to become a private beta tester?

Please be aware that the application is still under development. It is buggy and not stable. However, if you would like to test it at your own risk, please apply to become a private beta tester by contacting us. Note that as we’re now focusing on the correction of bugs to release the final version rapidly, no technical support will be offered on this private beta. A delay of several days can occur to process your application. Thank you for your understanding, and see you soon for the final release!

this is outrageous, im not paying $266 to go to 2.0 from 1.8 i see no new great fixes. you will be loosing my business , im moving on to a different tour maker

Hello Yaaqob, as you know, software development has a cost. The new price of Panotour Pro reflects the many new features we’re adding. In fact, it’s like a brand new piece of software, both in terms of ergonomics and features. We’re convinced that the upgrade price from version 1.0 to version 2.0 is fair and also reflects the many new projects you will be able to create. Please apply for a private beta access and we’re sure you’ll understand what we mean. Best regards, the Kolor Team

    It looks so promising!

I can’t understand why people do not want to spend 400 euros or more on such a fine piece of software. I often charge way over 2.000 Euros for a Virtual Tour. Software costs. So does Photoshop, Lightroom and all the other programs we use. I would gladly pay the double, if it resulted in even more features and faster development…

If I calculated the amount of time i have saved, using PTP 1.8 instead of manually coding, I think this program is one of the best investments I ever did.

I have already applied for the Private Beta access, but have not heard anything from Kolor yet. Hopefully I hear something soon. I cant wait to see the new widget part, making it possible for the community, to create new stuff and features to PTP2…. Simply amazing!

    Best regards

I am about to buy a professional virtual tourbuilder. Asked to buy pt1.8 now and get 2.0 then by only paying the price difference. But there is no such “grace period” as it is offered by many software companies as soon a new version is announced.
In addition the livepano function is included in the gardengnomes Pano2Vr software yet in the light version.
And so far there is too little information on new features in your announcements besides a much nicer GUI.
Meaning: pt2.0 is to high in price and the company too unflexible regarding customer demands.
I’ll buy the Pano2VR pro now.

I am with Henrik on this, the amount of money that I make from creating Virtual Tours I do not see how any self respecting Virtual Tour Photographer could complain about the price. With awesome new features i really cannot wait for the new Panotour to come out and i will be one the first to upgrade. Kolor do not listen to people complaining about price, the truth is i would also pay double your price for this software especially seeing as though it will take me one job to pay it off anyway. I have applied for beta testing and hope to hear from you guys soon! Awesome presentation by the way!

Love 1.8 but not happy as just spent the last 2 months investing in hardware and learning software, only to have to spend MORE money in less than 2 months of owning the software. Should have been informed at point of 1.8 purchase that 2 was soon to be available!!!!

I think the rev number going from 1.8 to 2 might have some people confused about what they are really getting. I’m hoping to try out the beta soon, but the preview I saw showed a major upgrade. Nobody likes paying for updates, but you have to or the upgrades stop coming. People don’t code for free and besides, there is no other competitor to this. I’d wait to try it out before making judgements.

    Oops… 266$? (for upgrade?)

I must test it at first. How can I download PTP2?

  • Sunfunnel Media | Jun 17, 2013 at 17 h 49 min

I am an Alpha/Beta tester for PTP 2.0 and I can assure you that it is a significant upgrade. For casual user it may not seem like a considerable upgrade however for those who currently push the limits of PTP 1.8 and use it to fullest possibilities this will be a huge time saver. Many of the features that I currently have to hand code in my tours ( will be available in PTP 2.0 “out-of-the-box”. This is just an example of a few of the new features:
    • Assigning action to stock or imported icons
    • Custom menu creation
    • Easy inclusion of custom header and footer
    • Help screen animations
    • Social buttons
    • Grouping pano in submenus
    • Responsive Lightbox –
    o Text
    o Pdf’s
o Hosted videos like You Tube
    o iFrames – webpage
    o Photo Gallery

I am curious and no one has been willing to respond, will this new version have floating arrows available much like you see in the Google streetview or business photos? To me a tour is pretty much useless if the user has to scroll around to find the hotspot, and it is much more intuitive if there is a constant way for them to be guided to the hotspot.

I wonder if it’s to make the pictures in HTML 5?
    Thank you!

I’ve downloaded the beta, and absolutely love the new features, have no problems paying the upgrade price as am a software developer and can see a lot of work has gone into this new version…loaded with new features and a beautiful new UI…
I’m having one problem though (I know its a beta) – I cant get video to work online; works offline on my PC locally; and am using the same MP4′s ive used in PTP 1.8 projects…any ideas; gratefully received….

PTP 1.8 Link (video working) is on tv

PTP 2 Link: (video not loading) is on wall

Many Thanks to Klaus and all the team @ Kolor
